Where were you born and where did you grow up?
I was born in Gallipolis, OH and raised in Bidwell, OH (a suburb of Gallipolis).
What is the most important thing you do for our clients?
I truly believe that our slogan "helping clients navigate a complex world" is exactly what we do. Rarely in life is anybody required to hire an attorney, but often you need to because attorneys know how to get things done the right way and, frankly, it can be a scary world out there!
What have you done to improve the Client Experience?
Client Experience is an area of continuous improvement for me. I'm currently working on a follow-up process that will more efficiently keep our clients informed of changes in the law.
Clients really like it when…
...I show them how easy it can be to work with this office.
I really appreciate it when clients…
...ask tough questions. Simply put, it lets me know that they are working on this as hard as I am and it makes me a better attorney because I may learn something I didn't know.
What makes you most proud of working here?
That we have figured out how to create a fun culture that contributes to positive outcomes for our clients.
What do you do in your free time?
When I'm not with my wife or daughters, I'm probably holding a golf club or guitar.
What is a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I once had a hole-in-one playing golf by myself. Luckily, I was playing through a foursome and they were on the green when the ball went in.
Do you have a favorite quote or motto?
One of Warren Buffett’s quotes has always stuck with me: ”the key in life is to figure out who to be the batboy for.” This brings new meaning to me with every stage in life.
Are you a cat or dog person (or fish, hamster, snake, etc.)?
We recently put our cocker spaniel down due to old age. I think the kids want to get a rabbit now. My preference is for a cat because I admire their independence.
Buckeyes, Browns, or Bengals?
Even though I went to Ohio University, I have always rooted for Buckeyes football. And, I've been a Bengals fan since childhood. But, I root for the Browns when they're not playing the Bengals because they're the other Ohio team.
